Airfield Estate requires a Craft Gardener who will support the day-to-day operations of the ornamental gardens and food production as part of the Airfield Garden team. The Craft Gardener will enjoy sharing their knowledge with our visitors across our tours, education programmes, corporate volunteering and the community garden. Main Responsibilities Practical horticulture (e.g. managing trees and shrubs, herbaceous plants, turf care, pest/disease/weed control, compost, path care, plant propagation and hedgerows) Plantsmanship (e.g. the identification, recording and labelling of individual plants) Assist in the production of quality fruit, herbs and vegetables in Airfield polytunnels and food garden, including ground preparation, propagation, cultivation, harvesting, and monitoring of the overall health of soil, fruit and vegetables.
