Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced and qualified Senior Craft Gardener for their 18th-century demesne of 300 acres set under the Wicklow mountains, with over 27 acres including walled gardens, an arboretum, and pleasure grounds (which are overseen annually by Mr. Tom Stuart Smith). The garden is open to the public 60 days a year. The varied and interesting role offers an enthusiastic and motivated individual the opportunity to work in beautiful surroundings in a small, supportive team.
What you'll do:
We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced and knowledgeable Senior Craft Gardener to join our team.
What you'll need:
- You must have a proven track record, to include experience in the maintenance of rose gardens, perennial borders, and glasshouse/indoor plants
- Have a thorough knowledge of the cultivation of plants
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, embracing a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to work as part of and oversee a small team
Qualifications:
- You should have a relevant horticultural qualification to include, either QQI Level 5
Certificate in Horticulture / RHS Level 2 or 3, or equivalent/proven experience. - 5 years relevant experience in a similar role
- PA1 and PA6 Spraying Certificates an advantage
- Full driving licence required
- Medical required prior to commencing
