The Office of Public Works (OPW) is a key Irish government body responsible for a diverse range of public services, including managing much of the State’s property portfolio (including offices, Garda stations and heritage buildings), conserving and presenting national monuments and heritage sites, and acting as the lead agency for flood risk management in Ireland.
Established in 1831, its modern remit centres on three main areas: estate portfolio management, heritage services, and flood risk management. The OPW aims to deliver these services in a way that is client-focused, timely, and value for money, while advancing sustainability and innovation.
