Horticulturist / Landscaping Gardener

Castlegrey Landscapes is looking for a full time experienced & enthusiastic Horticulturist / Landscaping Gardener to join our expanding team. This is a great opportunity for you to become part of our team and assist in the continued growth of a successful company.

We specialise in Commercial & Residential landscaping & maintenance projects. Castlegrey Landscapes is committed to offering reliable, high-quality services to meet the needs of our residential and commercial customers.

Experience Required: Horticultural qualification and or at least 3-5 years practical horticultural experience (this is essential).

Location: Based in Limerick, a high percentage of the work is carried out in Limerick and its suburbs. Some travel to Kerry, Galway and Dublin.

Hours: 8.00 am -5.00 pm Monday to Friday

Duties to include:

• Perform routine garden maintenance, including mowing, hedge trimming, pruning, planting and weeding to an exceptional standard
• Practical horticulture (e.g. managing trees and shrubs, herbaceous plants, turf care, pest/disease/weed control, compost, path care)
• Plantsmanship (e.g. the identification, recording and labelling of individual plants)
• Operate and maintain equipment safely and efficiently
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
• Work collaboratively with the team to meet client expectations
• Weed control
• Waste collection and disposal
• Ad hoc duties

Requirements:

• Horticultural qualification and or at least 3-5 years practical horticultural experience - Required
• Previous experience in gardening, landscaping or grounds maintenance – Required
• Full clean driving licence and over 25 for insurance purposes – Required
• BE Trailer licence - Preferred
• Manual Handling / Safe Pass - Preferred
• Own Transport to get to the company premises each morning - Required
• Van Driving Experience - Preferred
• Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Capable of performing outdoor work in all weather conditions
• Reliable, punctual, adaptable, with good communication skills and a professional approach to client interactions
• Must have a good standard of English.

• You will need a love of and enthusiasm for plants and gardens.
• A good working knowledge of horticulture and experience within the industry are essential
• A desire to learn and develop is vital.
• You will need to be good at communicating and enjoy being part of a close-knit team, whilst being able to show initiative.

Responsibilities:

• Adhering to Company policies and procedures and clients' site rules, in relation to all aspects of Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality
• Follow the instructions provided by management
• Work as part of a team to ensure quality of work is delivered to an excellent standard and that the work completed is carried out in an efficient and timely manner

• Remuneration: €33,000k – €37,500k, based on your level of experience
