Experienced Full-Time Gardener

We are seeking an experienced and proactive gardener to manage expansive gardens across two properties. The ideal candidate will possess a hands-on approach, demonstrate initiative, and effectively work with a team of workers, while reporting to the farm manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Garden Management:
  • Oversee the maintenance of lawns, ensuring they are kept to a high standard with effective weed control and precise edging.
  • Manage flower beds, shrubs, and annuals.
  • Maintain pots and container plants.
  • Ensure proper care of hedges and perform regular weeding.
    
    
• Vegetable and Fruit Garden:
  • Plan, sow, cultivate, and harvest seasonal crops.
  • Prune plants as needed to promote healthy growth.
    
    
• Maintenance Tasks:
  • Control weeds and ensure the cleanliness of all garden areas.
  • Plant and maintain trees as required.
    
    
• Interior Road Maintenance:
  • Maintain interior roadways within the properties to ensure safe access.
    
    
• Team Leadership:
  • Work alongside and direct co-workers, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Develop and adhere to a structured work schedule for all gardening tasks.
    
    
• Collaboration:
  • Work under the farm manager's supervision to align gardening activities with overall farm operations.
    
    
• Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a gardener or in a similar role.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Knowledge of horticultural practices, plant care, and garden maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and take direction.
  • Ability to operate gardening machinery
