Garden Centre Manager

Based just 20 minutes north of Dublin Airport, Elmgrove Farm is a family-owned and operated business with an exciting future. As our business continues to grow at an exceptional pace, we are looking for an ambitious, commercially minded and enthusiastic Garden Centre Manager to lead our expanding garden centre at Gormanston, Co. Meath.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take a leading role in a rapidly developing business that is doubling in size year on year. We are looking for someone who can bring energy, fresh ideas and strong management skills to help drive the next stage of our growth.

The Role

Reporting directly to the owners, the successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and overall performance of the garden centre.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Operations: Overseeing daily operations, including opening and closing, health and safety compliance, and maintaining an attractive, well-presented retail environment.

• Horticulture & Stock Management: Ensuring high standards of plant health and care, effective stock rotation, attractive merchandising, and efficient ordering and inventory control.

• Team Leadership: Recruiting, training, managing and motivating a team of sales assistants and horticultural staff to deliver an excellent customer experience.

• Sales & Commercial Performance: Driving sales growth, managing margins, monitoring KPIs and identifying opportunities to maximise revenue.

• Customer Experience: Maintaining high standards of customer service, dealing with customer queries and managing special orders.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has:

• Proven experience in retail management, ideally within a garden centre, plant nursery or large DIY/retail environment.

• A qualification in horticulture or strong practical plant knowledge (an advantage).

• Excellent leadership, communication and people-management skills.

• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities to grow sales and profitability.

• A hands-on, proactive approach with excellent organisational skills.

• Flexibility to work weekends and during key seasonal periods, particularly spring and summer.
